The Me I Do Not Know

     During our early stage of life, people tend to guide us and give us instructions they believe or deem fit to best suit our lives, expecting us to follow them to the call. And when we don't follow those instructions, we attract to ourselves punishment which they also deem fit to suit the gravity of mistake or offence committed. And we also grow up believing what those values have instilled in us and follow them without thinking. Some break out of it when the pattern is not well structured leading to low self esteem, inability to take some certain decisions and so on. But, it's not their (people that taught us those lessons) fault, they only do their best in bringing us up. That's why an African proverb says "When someone is given birth to, you have to rebirth yourself". At some point in life, you come to the understanding of who we really are and what we are. Because WHO you are is different from WHAT you are. But in this article, we will only concentrate on WHO we are and by God's grace we will consider WHAT we are in the next article.
     So, this is my question to you, "WHO ARE YOU". Wait! Don't be in a hurry to answer because, you might actually give a wrong answer about WHO you are.
You may want to ask, What do you mean? Well, check this: Who you are is your identity. Your name, your belief, your motive, your thought, your heart; the Bible says: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he (Proverbs 23:7a. KJV), and your personality. Even though, WHO you are may not be limited to only these. These are part of WHO you are.
Many of us get to know who we really are when we became adult and see the world for ourselves. Some later discovered that what they are studying in college isn't Who they are and later dropped out or went back to study WHO they want themselves to be.
The fascinating part is; Nobody can tell you who you are except for Two People, and these people are: God and Yourself.
     God will tell you WHO you are and then it's left to you to believe WHO you are and walk in the person you are. But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 1Peter 2:9 KJV. That is WHO you are in the sight of God. But who do you think you are in your own eyes? Wretched person? Bad luck? Mistake? Or Beautiful? Lovely? Fortunate? Favoured? and so on. Let me tell you; "Who you don't believe about yourself, you can not become". So, if you want to be somebody in life, you'd have to start believing yourself and do your best to become it consciously. Don't worry about it if it's taking time, but I'm joining my faith with yours to tell you that, it's possible to become who you want to become and that God is always with you. And that's another reason you need Jesus Christ to help you become the WHO you were made to be, because He has the original piece with Him and with Him only you can get the full gist of Who you are. If you make your decision to come to Jesus, then say this words: Lord Jesus, I believe you and in Who you say I am. Come into my heart and turn me into Who you say I am. Be my Lord and my Saviour from this day onward in Jesus Christ's name, Amen. I welcome you into God's family. Find a Jesus Christ believing Church to join and enjoy God like never before. Don't forget, you can be WHO you wa t to be be with God and nothing can stop you except yourself. So, go on dreaming and believing, you will become Who you want to become in Jesus Christ's name.
