Listen Twice, Talk Once


Introduction

Recent development in human invented technologies has made listening a very herculine activity. I can categorically say that people want their voices to be heard rather than listening. Research has shown that humans highest time of concentration is about 8seconds which is even lover than that of a fish which is about 9seconds, that is, even animals have the capacity to focus and concentrate on a particular activity than humans, and what has that illustrated to us, there is a lagging shift in the originally crafted human to animal intention.

Come to reason it, how did we get here.
God's creation and purpose didn't shift buthuman has disaligned ourselves from the original intention of God and this is responsible for the decadence we are experiencing.

Listening is an Act
The act of listening is a very herculine responsibility that you will easily lose focus if care is not taken. The act of listening is a skill that needs to be developed by everybody living on the planet earth. Some people's continuity on the earth is dependent on their ability to listen.

The Art of Listening
As one can study art of dancing so also can one study art of Listening. I am not an expert in this line but I can only share few thoughts on it though. For anybody that wants to learn the art of listening, first, you must be ready to listen Twice and talk once. A very good example is the number of ears and mouth that God gave us. God gave us two ears and one mouth. A very good idea of how conversation should be, listening more than talking.
In our generation, we have people who are so eager to push their opinion out there. You could say that is why wisdom is so scarce in our day. Even the Bible says in the midst of counselors, there is safety. You don't talk too much when you are with counselors, you listen.


Listening is a more work than talking. Listening to people talking without you having to either interrupt or waiting for them to finish so you can also speak is a more herculine task than talking. Most of the people think that people who always talk are the most wise whereas, the bible says, even fools are taken to be wise when they keep quite. I am sorry if I break your ego neck but, that you are always having something to say doesn't really mean you are the most wise in the building but rather the other way round.

I would lwant to implore you to rather than always talking, try your best to listen even more and you will discover the mighty grace that would be revealed in you.
